MIB Designer 5.2.1 Release

MIB Designer version 5.2.1 has been released on 2025-06-18T22:00:00Z with a major upgrade of the Java Runtime requirements: Java 17 (instead of 9) is now required to run MIB Designer.
This change was necessary to renovate the spell checking and bring it to an up-to-date level.

CHANGES

  • Fixed: Highlighting of spell check findings in SMI Editor was shifted by the number of lines
    in the text before the finding to the right on Windows. On Windows, objects names were not
    accepted as valid spelling in SMI Editor text.

[2025-06-17] MIB Designer 5.2.0

  • Fixed: PDF export of IMPORTS construct formatting now uses correct line-breaking and references for object-names that are not unique in current MIB repository are fixed now too.
  • Fixed: Extra>Statistics now reports TEXTUAL-CONVENTION counts too.
  • Fixed: Default mibrepository path now is “mibrepo-2023-07”.
  • Updated: OpenJDK included in installer to version 24.0.1.
  • Improved: Spell checking is now based on languagetool which provides more checking rules and better suggestions for fixing them. Spelling errors can now be fixed directly within the object editors and within the node’s SMI Editor using right mouse click (mouse button 3).
  • Updated: snmp4j-clt to version 3.5.1.
